Stone Cottage has new owners. We will be open from Sunday, 22 January at 2pm.

We are conveniently situated five minutes walk from Plettenberg Bay's Central Beach and town, shops and restaurants. This Historical old cottage is a mix of eclectic old and new. This Backpackers with B&B offers simple bare-foot luxury in the heart of the Garden Route. Come and enjoy the 180-degree sea view from our indigenous garden with sundeck & jacuzzi. Both the Old Oupa Jannie Cottage and Dorms as well as the newer units cater for the creative in spirit.

All accomodation are serviced daily and are also available as fully functional self-catering, if so desired. We also have a laundry service on-site.

Boetie Pierre Cottage was designed and built in sympathy of the Old Stone Cottage and is furnished with old and new eg: Original old doors, antique family furniture, old photographs and a few new pieces create a simple yet crisply rustic atmosphere with spectacular sea views. Spacious 1 bedroom apartment with a King size four poster bed with crisp white linen, en-suite shower & WC. Open plan fully equipped kitchen, lounge/ dining room with fireplace and covered veranda with 180 degree sea views. Extra bed available.Barbeque facilities outside. Serviced daily. Garden access to Backpackers, jacuzzi & cummunal deck.


BUDGET ACCOMMODATION – NO FRILLS (No fussy guests please!!)
Mostly suitable for families or a close group of friends - Oupa Jannie Cottage(sleeps up to 5) is situated in the Ground floor area of the Old Stone Cottage. It has an authentic old west coast atmosphere with wide stone walls with a mix of collectables, generations of inherited family junk, antiques, and old photographs of Plettenberg Bay taken by the Stone and Le Roux families since 1900. It consists of 2 bedrooms (one of the rooms is next to the main bedroom with an interleading door - ideal for family with small children), a dining area with a sun-bed and huge sliding windows that open up the whole room, and fully-equipped kitchen. It has a semi-outside reed enclosed shower overlooking the sea and bathroom with Victorian bath and washbasin with lots of Fresh air. Not for the Faint-hearted. Oupa Jannie cottage walks out into the garden with the communal sundeck and jacuzzi overlooking Central Beach and the Beacon Island Hotel.

Hilda Room is furnished with old and new. Original old doors, other antique furniture and a few new pieces create a simple yet crisply rustic atmosphere. Queen double bed with en-suite shower & WC. Mini kitchenette (fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave). Walks out on to the communal wooden deck with jacuzzi overlooking the bay. Serviced daily.


Part of the new cottage built and designed in sympathy of the Old Stone Cottage and is furnished with old and new. Original old doors, old Photographs and some antique furniture and a few new pieces create a simple rustic atmosphere. Sleeps 2, two beds with en-suite shower & WC. Mini kitchenette (fridge, kettle, toaster, electric frying pan and microwave). Walks out on to communal wooden deck with jacuzzi overlooking the bay. Serviced daily.


BACKPACKERS ACCOMMODATION
Oupa Jannie Dorm Rooms (sleeps up to 8) is situated in the Ground floor area of the Old Stone Cottage. It has an authentic old west coast atmosphere. It consists of a ladies & a mens dorm sleeping 4 each. The Cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen and cummunal lounge. It has a semi-outside reed enclosed shower overlooking the sea and bathroom with Victorian bath, WC and washbasin with lots of Fresh air. The Oupa Jannie Cottage walks out into the garden with the communal sundeck and jacuzzi overlooking Central Beach and the Beacon Island Hotel.
